Use of the Community Portal

Dear folks,

For a few weeks now, we have been conversing via email, and several of is are a bit fatigued trying to keep up with the threads.

If you remember, I introduced everyone to the community portal that Simon has set up, and a specific place where I put up a discussion. BIG Technology - BIG Community - which we haven’t used.

I’ll be honest with everyone - my comfort zone is email. It is where I live. However - I have tried to use the portal to flip my habit for the BIG CIC, but my experience of others not really engaging with it basically sent me back to email.

For group discussion - I think we should use this community portal. Not Teams, not a Google equivalent, or email.

I would guess that we would keep private / commercial matters off the portal.

This would mean instead of emailing each other - we would create a thread or reply to a thread - using email as the pointer to the thread.

Please can you try to engage on this thread via the portal

That’s is definitely a good step towards making the attempt work 🙂

Anybody with questions about how to do anything please ask me or there is extensive How to in https://big-exams.logicalmodel.net/flarum/public/t/how-to-forum and this link is permanently available at the top line of links n the sreen (but you do need to scroll the list see screenshot)

Private Stuff

Anything private (which @“DD” you suggest keeping of the forum) can be made private in several ways.

It can be hidden from unsigned public readers like this

text is now hidden to non logged in users

We can give a hierarchical access to selected users

We can make group only accessible to users who belong to a privilege group like @ExamReviewers

If your would like to have a confidentiality/ visibility level different to unrestricted visibility then we’ve options and I’m happy to prepare or just implement something that fits

Hi David,
Off the back of your dependency slides I have pulled together the attached “From Reality to a Governed Business ” document.
The intention was to step away from the “how can each current tool contribute?”, and to set out a very simple lifecycle of what an organisation actually needs to do – from discovery, through modelling and visualisation, into monitoring, governance and learning – and then show how our existing tools can support each step.
My aim was to treat it as a framing device rather than a design: a basic route-map that we can then hang BIG, x42, Integreli, SharpCloud and the Digital Business Brain onto, without making any of them the starting point.
I am sure Tony would produce a far better diagrammatic representation, but for now the visual in the paper came courtesy of Google Gemini 5, just to give us something concrete to react to.
Very happy to refine or simplify this further if it is useful as part of the wider BIG thinking.

Most things can be uploaded / added to a post with the ‘middle’ two buttons in the screen shot below.
I haven’t configured everything but will add if you tell me what.

You can also drag and drop things (like the screenshot here which i just dropped –>

short answer is i don’t think so BUT you can edit any of your own posts so you can insert content.
Threads can be can split & merge so maybe i can
