Your asked a big question !
The page starts “Why BIG?”
Then goes “strategy formulation” and “prioritising BAU, Change, and Value Creation”…
IMHO AN answer would be “People have difficulty agreeing direction and priorities and trade -offs between benefit today (operations) and benefit tomorrow”
The triplets “bau, change and value creation” is foundationaly wrong in its divisions(for me). The given context: “Poor formulation” is IMHO derivative from an unstated root cause…
But that my mental model….
I can do the implicit ‘error correction’ on the fly as I read it. So it makes sense for me. It doesn’t communicate what I believe to be a richer more complete and multi-dimensional description to others. Hence I think the question is a big one and not a simple “how do I polish what is already there?”
Also on a prosaic note including a abbreviation in an opening sentence without its expansion It’s not something I would do…
So I say big questions because part of it is about philosophy and part of it many other strands of thought mixed in…
